The annual Simpson Construction ski conference was held at Mt Buller on the 26th August and was once again a great day. The ski conference provides our hard working staff with a well earned day of fun and the chance to unwind. It usually comes with a barrel of laughs too!
Here’s to next year!
We would like to send our congratulations to Simpson Project Manager Simon Chen and his gorgeous wife, Michelle who said their “I do’s” on Sunday.
Please join us in wishing the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness and laughter.
Congratulations Simon & Michelle!
This year, Christmas and another year of hard work was celebrated with a party at Moonee Valley Racing Club. Melbourne put on a lovely summer night to watch the horses with a cold drink in hand, as well as mingle with the Simpson crew. Some people lost and a few lucky ones won, but it is fair to say everyone enjoyed the night as holiday mode began to sink in.
2014 has been a busy and eventful year here at Simpson Construction. The Apollo Bay WTP Augmentation, Melbourne Water Pump Station, Ballan Road Storage Tanks, Emily Street Pump Station and Nagambie Storage Tanks being some key jobs that have been completed. Some exciting events have also occurred in 2014. Eliza Simpson and Sean Beams got hitched, Pat Aughton will marry his fiancé Briege this weekend and we celebrated 30 years of business. With it being almost time to bid this year farewell, we say Merry Christmas, happy New Year and bring on the beach!
This year marked the 30th anniversary of Simpson Construction. Simpson’s celebrated the big 30 by spending two days at beautiful Skenes Creek. Staff, ex staff and family came together to let their hair down and celebrate Simpson’s success. Everyone began the festivities by dining for lunch at Chris’s Beacon Point, a restaurant with gorgeous views of Skenes Creek and yummy food to match. Andrew made a great speech, which entailed running through the history of the company as well as mentioning some of the colouful characters that have passed through the company. The celebrations continued into the night as dinner was served around the campfire- a BBQ and potatoes cooked over the hot coals yum yum! In true ‘Simpson style’ brave guests took part in an early morning ocean swim. Not sure if this cured the hangovers or not! All in all the weekend was an excellent way to celebrate 30 years of hard work and achievement. Go Simpson’s!

Simpson Construction has won the CCF Victoria Earth Award for the second year running, this time for our Victoria Park Redevelopment Project. This project involved the demolition and reconstruction of existing amenities at the Victoria Park grounds, most famously known as the former home of the Collingwood Football Club, and an integral part of both AFL and VFL history.
In particular the works involved the demolition of the Rush Stand, toilet blocks and terracing as well as the scoreboard, removal of the majority of the 1930’s depression built perimeter walls and a 2m reduction in height of the overall embankments. The completed project returned to the community a dynamic public space and sporting area that had previously become a derelict and unattractive area unavailable to the public.
This is the second award that the Victoria Park Redevelopment Project has won, we could not be more proud.
