Net Zero Emissions
At Simpson Construction Company, we are proud to be actively conscious about the environment and sustainability. In Hallston – regional Victoria, we have purchased approximately 300 acres of an ex plantation that we are committing to restore to a natural and native forest rehabilitation park to commence our journey of becoming better than carbon neutral.
We are well aware, the construction industry as a whole is a large contributor to global carbon emissions. As such, we are always looking to implement new methods and strategies that help deliver our construction projects more efficiently and sustainably. However, we see it as our responsibility to go above and beyond this approach and commit directly to impacting and preserving the environment.
Our dedicated space in Hallston has been purposely selected to improve our environmental footprint and for Simpson Constructions to become better than carbon neutral while encouraging a green workplace culture. A Reforestation Plan has been commissioned and seeding commenced in April 2020. There will be 25 species of native vegetation planted that will also help preserve the local wildlife. The purchase of the block has saved approx. 40 Hectares of Blue Gum trees that were scheduled to be harvested and will ultimately add another 15% of area to the existing adjacent Regional Park.
We are passionate about social sustainability, fighting climate change and making a difference!
